Welcome to the 2026–2027 Needham Youth Basketball League (NYBL) season! We are excited to get another great season of basketball underway.

NYBL is a recreational league focused on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and most importantly, having fun. We welcome players of all experience levels — from beginners to more experienced players.

Season Information

Season: November 1, 2026 – March 18, 2027
Registration: September 1 at 12:00 PM – October 4
Cost: $300 + service fees
Financial Aid: Available

A late fee will be charged for registrations received after October 4.

Important Program Updates

Two important changes to our younger-player programs this season:

1st & 2nd Grade:
The 1st & 2nd Grade program will not be offered during the 2026–2027 season. After two great seasons, we are incredibly grateful to all of the families and players who helped make the program such a special part of NYBL. We are not able to offer the program again this season due to limited court availability.

3rd & 4th Grade:
After three years as a Developmental League, our 3rd & 4th Grade program is taking the next step! Beginning this season, it will transition to a team-based league, following the same model NYBL has successfully used for our 5th/6th and 7th/8th Grade divisions for more than 30 years.

Players will be placed on teams, coached by parent volunteers, and will participate in a combination of weekly skill development and game play throughout the season.

A League for All Players

NYBL is a recreational basketball league, and players of all experience levels are welcome.

Your child does not need to be an experienced basketball player to participate. Whether they are learning the fundamentals for the first time or have been playing for years, our goal is to help every player improve their skills, build confidence, learn teamwork, and have fun.

All NYBL coaches are parent volunteers, and we are always grateful for the families who give their time to make the league possible.
