Evaluation Day Sign Ups
Thanks for registering your player with the NYBL for the 2025-2026 season!
The NYBL places every player who registers on a team, and our goal is to create balanced teams that make the league competitive and fun for all. We do not have try-outs, and instead hold evaluation days to assess players, which helps us form our teams. Players at all skill levels are welcome to join evaluation days, whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years. Although it is a challenge to create perfectly balanced teams and parity, the evaluations are an important step to creating teams that will be competitive and maintain the fun, recreational culture of the league.
We are holding our evaluation days on October 4th and 5th for players in 5th through 8th grade. Every player should attend one of the sessions, which you can register for using the links below.

Quick Reminder of NYBL’s Mission
We would like to remind everyone that registration for our programs is open to all Needham youth, regardless of participation in other basketball leagues. NYBL’s mission is to provide all Needham youth with the opportunity to play recreational basketball. If you have any questions about our approach, please reach out and we would be happy to discuss.
About Us
The Needham Youth Basketball league (NYBL) is a recreational basketball league for children in 1st-8th grade, who live in Needham, MA or attend school in Needham, MA. All abilities welcome and encouraged.
